Presented with a fateful choice... the Sacred Dagger... the Hunters Whip... the Saints Pocket Watch... the Ceremonial Axe... The Blessed Cross... or the Holy Water. Which of these weapons will you wield?

"I'd like to know what special properties these weapons possess first, if any." I pause momentarily, considering what else to say. "So...why were you shamed, Mr. Belmont?"

Honestly, I'd think a dagger, axe, and whip would be rather self explainitory for weaponry...

The time stopping pocket watch, the boomeranging cross, and the molotov cocktail/holy water might take a bit more explaining of course, but they were always treated like they were just as normal as the dagger and axe, so Simon wouldn't know they're any different, would he?

I simply nod at the appropriate moments while Simon explains why he thinks himself shameful to his family name. "My name is Nocturne. So what am I supposed to and where should I go once I pick my weapon?" I ask, eyeing the Hunter's Whip.

The text buffer is probably making him less helpful than he should be. I can't fit too much exposition in at any given time.

And yes, you'll probably have an option to pick up more of those weapons later on, if you want. It's just THIS set is going to be converted to, in Castlevania speak, "Hearts". In every other game I could think of it's your magic bar. Of course you have no magic abilities yet(you'll need to complete the first dungeon quest for that), but hey, filling it up is better than Avion, Meka or Al got.

I hold the whip aloft in the air, considering my choices.

The ceremonial axe and sacred dagger are both out; they sound like they were meant for display rather than actual combat.

The watch is also eliminated; it is a weapon that would best work in combination with something else, and I am only allowed to use the one.

I have no idea how a cross is supposed to work.

The water might have made a good weapon but is the supply everlasting? What if I have to get up close to use it effectively? In the end only one choice remains...

"Hunter's Whip, I choose you!"

Heheheh. The sound effect "Magicked Up!" just amuses me.

But now we pause a moment to reflect and... hey, what are THEY doing here? Are they even still posting?!

"I...I have no idea who these people are. Really." I reply, looking at the party screen in confusion and bewilderment.

[Alastor]

I lean close to Meka and whisper "I vote we kill the fish."

I give Al a "you idiot" look and say "But Lent's over! Plus, this fishperson might be able to help us. Maybe. If I haven't already pissed it off enough."

[Penny Royals]

"I'm sorry Mr. Fishy Sir!" I look to the guys. They're both pretty dumb. "Oh, I think he's angry alright." I pause, then look. "...You are angry, right?"

Wait... did Simon just diss Bio-Miracle Bokutte Upa? I'll have you know that Prince Upa, of the Akuyo Kingdom, was fighting demon lords before he was out of diapers using just his baby rattle you little upstart with a whip!

"Well, sorry, dude. We weren't going fishing for fishfolk, if that's any consolation. Also, weird question, but have you seen any sea serpent-dragon-things around here recently?"

"To be exact, we're trying to catch it. Apparently merfolk swim with them. Small ocean?"

[Penny Royals]

"...Guys, I suggest we just quit while we're ahead." I go to try and undo the catch on fishy man. "And I'm not a sir, I am a lady!"

I decide to ignore the peanut gallery (for the sake of my sanity) and turn my attention back to Simon. "So...what is it that I have to do now that I wield this whip?"

I'm sorry for the "Fish boobies" joke. I really am... besides, it's more like a dolphin than a fish... even if Zora do lay eggs...

And it's five pixels people. Not to mention that Zora have no nipples. There's no reason to make a big deal out of it other than the fact that your characters have been referring to the character by the wrong gender for awhile now, and they've become annoyed at it.

Yes, I'm sure that somehow indicating masculine or feminine tones of voice could be arranged, since I already do emoting tones with the little indicators. I didn't think it was needed. I still don't think it's needed, and it should add a little humor that at times, because everyone speaks in the same color and font, you can't always tell who is talking.

Also, next comic should bring in Firefly, so I'm going to need to divide up the replies again. Dang... and I'd hoped that I'd have gotten everyone so they could at least talk to one another again via that pause screen trick.

I am significantly less repulsed by the fish tits, but do my best to try not to stare at the mermaid's tits.

"Ohhhh, okay. I couldn't see anything since you were in the water and all that. Sorry." I have absolutely no real reaction to fish boobies. They're just like human boobies. Only scaled.

A little rushed, not my best comic, but I hope the basic idea comes across...

And yes, maybe Simon is onto something there with a critical mass needed to bring heroes in from another world to balance the scales...

"ZZZZZZZZZ...huh what?" I suddenly sit up and the first sensations I feel are my head hurting, and me feeling all sandy. Nothing that huge of a deal. I shrug and go back to sleep.

"So east all the way?" I ask, wanting to verify I had heard it right.

Simon will only be able to take you as far as the grave yard... you'll need to brave Kings Tomb yourself...

Oh... alternate comment for the Zora... "Are you looking for A sea serpent, or THE Sea Serpent?" (referring to the Sea Serpent card in the Dual System Setup for Castlevania. It's the Water element.)

I'll probably use that in the next comic if I remember it. And if the conversation doesn't move on.

I get Simon glasses to accompany Meka's Kamina glasses. Jus' sayin'.

"Who do we think we are? We're heroes! We were sent here for something."

I woke up again at the sound of the guard's voice, "SHUT UP, SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!"

I look at Al and give him the biggest shit-eating grin I can muster, then turn around and yell:
"JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?! We're here to save...everyone...from...evil or something! YEAH."
"Also, thank you for the directions!"
