The year was 1988 AD on the Earth calendar. The decade's box office was dominated by the action and horror film genres, and the WWF is a cultural phenomena in America. Routinely, people are piling into theaters to watch Schwarzenegger and Stallone in their latest ventures in the genre.
Of course, that all changed that year. Aliens finally took notice of the tiny blue ball in some backwater solar system. Nobody knew how it quite started, but as soon as it did, we were swamped. Abductions were rampant, with most political leaders being taken by the invaders- from America to the Soviet Union, and most military forces being left in shambles. The invasion ended just as soon as it began, with what was left of the nations governments trying to launch a counter-offensive.
Next to nothing was left behind by the invading forces- much less than anything truly needed to track down the mothership in any reasonable time. However one of the few things left were downed ships, shot out of the sky during the invasion. Most were rendered unable to fly, but others were rendered in at least partial working order.
Though it took a few weeks, a single ship was restored to complete working order. This was, hopefully, going to be the first of several, though time was essential- they had to send out a crew manning this ship if they wanted any hope of saving the world's leaders.
But the question is, who? With most of the military devastated or abducted, and what little was left having to been stretched to the limit in attempts to control rioting and looting, there was no viable way that they could be used to helm this mission.
However, the entertainment industry was barely touched. The solution lied there- Hollywood and the WWF would prove to be mankind's final salvation. After all, you couldn't send musicians in to save the world- Don Dokken was a man of many talents; but killing aliens was not one of them.
It was with that thought that the spacecraft Fairbanks had its crew- a mishmash of film stars and wrestlers and stuntmen.
After all, they had practice all of the time on camera, didn't they?
