((PFFFT....Here to join the fun, Anya?))
"The Ultimate Force...Is that some kind of god?" Ars knelt down to Sensor 31's level. "It sounds like one, only with an incredibly ambiguous and vague terminology."

"They sound kinda' gay." Phryx quipped, holding his hands out to the side and prancing, "We are the Ultimate Force! We wear the spandex and tight nipple clenching clothing."
He was promptly slapped in the side by Jovial, before Jovial was back-handed away.
"Hey, hey." Jovial said, holding his face, "Just leave the girl alone, Phryx."

Sai was quiet as they continued on a bit. She didn't much like Phryx's idea. It wasn't a question she wanted to answer. It was one she'd rather not even think about. Not just because Vague had advised against it- it went much deeper than that- but because of the memories it would open up. Old wounds she didn't want to reopen.
Ars answered first, saying she was from a godless world. Perhaps in some ways, Sai might consider that a good thing. Gods weren't necessarily kind. They tended to mess with you.
She paid no heed to Sensor Thirty-one as she moved away from her. Suppose that should have bothered her more than it did, but perhaps it was for the best that the child keep her distance. People around Sai tend to get hurt, whether she wanted them to or not.
For now it seemed Vague reminded quietly mended with her shadow, having not said anything for quite some time.
Then Sensor Thirty-one answered. Guardian's, hm? She seemed awfully young for that.
Phryx's rather... Lewd statement irked her a little, but she said nothing in answer to it.
"I'm from a world that no longer exists," she said after a moment. "Gone, gone away... I'll leave it at that."
It was vague. It was brief. But she couldn't say anymore than that without opening a can of worms.

"Oh, like... blown up planet or like... at war?" Phryx asked, surveying his surroundings, before he looked up at the hill. He wasn't sure how much more they'd have to climb, or if they'd be able to actually get inside the mansion.

Sensor Thirty-one blushed, with so much attention on her. "Um, I don't know what ambiguous means. Or gay. But we don't wear spandex. We wear robes, like mine. And I'm the youngest Guardian. I just got initiated a few weeks ago. I'm just a Sensor, actually. But everyone says I could make it all the way to Speaker if I work really hard. And the Ultimate Force is, um, what guides us, I guess? If you have a strong connection with it, you get initiated into the Guardians. I'm the youngest to be initiated in a long time," she finished proudly. Her parents had told her that, though this was a great honor, she wasn't to boast about it. But she was, to say the least, very far from her parents at the moment.

"So, what are you guarding, little one?" Jovial asked, scratching at his tattooed arms, show casing his legion and his triumphs, as well as defeats.

"No. More like simply... Ceased to exist," she answered Phryx, the answer vague but rather to the point. She didn't tell him why it ceased to exist. Or how.

"Rather... random?" Phryx said, shrugging. He wasn't quite sure how to react to that. There had to be a reason, like there world, which was in a millennia long war between Angels and Demons with Humans stuck in the middle.

"I'm sorry. It is simply something that I cannot talk about," she said, looking away. "... Not yet."
Of course, it was never easy explaining to someone that your world was gone because of you.

"You didn't offend me, uh.. Phryx?" She said, hoping she remembered his name right. There was so much going on that she wasn't sure she got it right.

"Oh, well. Sorry, then. Not to good with social situations." Phryx shrugged, "Phryx, yes. My, uuh... 'Legion Name'. My real name is too long."

"It's fine. I'm not that great with... Social situations, either," she said with a small, slow shake of the head. At least she guessed his name correctly. That was a plus. Legion name, huh?
"Mine's not my real name, either... But it's been so long since I went by my real name that it seems so foreign, now. I can barely remember what it was."

"I see where you're coming from with the whole name business." Phryx said, searching his pockets. He took out the dirtiest piece of rolled out paper, packed with some sort of greenish herb. An equivalent of a cigarette for them, but alot more deadly.
"When you join a Legion, you mark all your Legion's triumphs on yourself." Phryx said, indicating to Jovial, "Indicates rank and shit like that. But when you achieve an individual title, you're apart of the Legion. I've been a commissar for like fifty years or something, and my real name is pretty much just dead to me."
Jovial sighed, scratching his arm. He had tattoos few and far between, given the fact he was relatively new to a Legion that was more on the defensive than the offensive like Phryx's. Up and down his arm were tales of warfare, one against one hundred all that shit, on Jovial's arm, he had things like shields covering children and hooks dug into his skin, indicating struggles and all that shit.

Sai glanced at the herb Phryx was holding and then at him. Fifty years. And the irony was that she was older than he was. Far, far older. She was still a bit uncomfortable with him, but it was slightly less so now than it had been.
"A commissar...?" She asked. Having never heard that term before. Or if she had, it'd been quite a long time since she remembered what it was. "So the tattoos are... Part of the occupation, then."

"I keep everyone in line. Someone murders a civilian, I have to remove a hand, someone rapes a woman not from a fleshhouse, I cut off their penis and staple it to their nostrils." Phryx said, nonchalantly, as if talking about the weather.
"The uuuh, the tattoos are the whole reason why If you join the Legion, you can't leave it." Jovial said, idly rubbing his arms. "You can't get a job pretty much after you join the Legion. The best you'll get is more mercenary work, which is pretty much what the Legions are."

Sai visibly tensed the moment Phryx said the word "rape". It was enough to make her go silent. Well, more than she already was. She barely heard the rest of it and had to mentally shake herself to keep herself from thinking too much about it.
"I... I see," she said.

"You 'lright?" Jovial asked, reaching out a hand towards Sai, placing it on her shoulder, "Did you see something or some shit? You just tensed up like fuck."
Jovial laughed a bit, easing the nervous tension he was giving off.

Sensor Thirty-one shrugged. She didn't know what the Guardians guarded, really. The title was probably more honorary than anything else. She listened intently to Phryx and Sai's conversation. "What's that mean?" she asked curiously. "What's a fleshhouse?"

"It's...Likely there will be many who won't agree with this but...from the sounds of it, it's a place where people pay to have sex, Sensor 31." Pause."Patrons go there to buy carnal pleasures from the people employed and/or living there. Sometimes, they will get more than just sex, depending on how willing they are to part with their money to hire a courtesan."
Ars replied as she listened to Phryx and Sai's discussion. His talk of the Legion was interesting: it sounded like the Winged Horde in a sense, only likely less reputable and probably didn't function as a sort of police force like the Horde.

((Ooooooooh, boy. Sai's favorite subject. XD Thiiiiiis may not end well. I might get to write her having an episode, yet. >D))
--
It wasn't a topic Sai liked getting into, either. Possibly even worse of one than the topic of her world's destruction. This one brought back much worse memories, ones that were a lot harder to shake. For a moment she forgot her surroundings, voices muffled. She barely heard the question, mind becoming a bit erratic. Feeling a sudden hand on her shoulder, she flinched, moving away from him quite quickly and looking up at him wide-eyed like a deer caught in the headlights. Her normal aloof expression had vanished.
She was shaking a little, having started summoning her tendrils for a defensive attack. It took a moment for her mind to be brought back to the present. Though still looking startled, the tendrils receded into her skin quickly.

"What does that mean?" asked Sensor Thirty-one. Even if she had known what sex was, the idea of extramarital sex would have been alien to her. However little of it there was in Ellair, an extremely religious world, was hushed up immediately. Puzzled, she hadn't noticed Sai's momentary episode.

"Woah, woah. Hey, hey." Jovial said, reaching back a bit and looking at Sai, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sneak up on you. Are... you alright? You look a bit nervous. This is probably the first time you've ever done that in-front of us, so I was just a bit scared."
"Well," Phryx said, squatting down to Sensor's level, "They like to do what the Legion does. Instead of taking eight year old boys and training them to kill, they take, kidnap and blackmail families into giving up their children to the sex trade. Little girls just like you."
He poked Sensor to emphasize his point, "But if not for the fleshhouses, Bastion would of crumbled along time ago. In-fact, living in a fleshhouse is a blessing. You get an education, food, shelter, warm clothes, the ability to bathe and a personal Angel whom heals mostly any sort of fucked up, back-water anal infections you ever get."
He stood up. He hoped that got the point across. He hated fleshhouses, since his life was spent inside them, watching his mother take man after man. Sometimes it wasn't just sex. He'd seen her have hot metals poured onto her foreheads whilst she hung by hooks, and if she screamed or moved, the hooks would tear her skin. Tear enough, and you fall to the ground and the punishments get worse. It was an old fleshhouse trick, but it worked.

"Um, okay," said Sensor Thirty-One. "So, kind of like the Guardians, but for only girls?" She only understood half of the first part of what he'd said, so she concentrated on the second part.

"Uh, yeah. Sure." Phryx said, finally gathering the fact that the girl probably knew very little about the matter of 'sex', atleast not as much as his world did. His world was full of people that were sickos, it was hard just to find a normal person.

Sai continued staring at him like a deer for a bit, shaking slowly subsiding as she tried calming herself down again.
"I..." She trailed off, voice much less distant-sounding now. Nervous, as he said. And frightened. "It's just.. I..."
"I'm..." She stopped and looked away, gaze down. "I'm fine..."
It was a lie. But she wasn't sure what else she could say to him in response.

"Hey," Jovial said, shrugging, "You wanna' take a breath for a second?"
Jovial was more confused now about this girl than before. She seemed so distant, so reserved, and hadn't flinched when that thing had attacked. And now she was hyperventilating at nothing. Was it something she saw or was it something they had said?
He walked towards and her reluctantly attempted to place a hand on her shoulder, "Sai, It's okay. You can tell me what's wrong."

Now, Sensor Thirty-one noticed Sai, who looked frightened. Immediately, she looked around for some new monster, but there was nothing. "Sai, are you okay?" she asked. Maybe Sai was a monster, but she hadn't done anything really bad so far. And if she was, Sensor Thirty-one probably wanted to stay on her good side.
