I'm ashamed that she even speaks English. I've seen people from Indonesia write better fanfiction.

Lol.
I read the synopsis thing on Wikipedia and I went D:
And, I got the impression that this book has a heavy Wiccan focus and shows anyone of another belief system to somehow be bad?

Having read at least part of HoN, I can say with 100% conviction that Cast is the worst of the two. Bella was a whiner and stupid, but she was tolerable for the most part. Cast managed to write a protagonist so insufferable that I have considered setting my Kindle on fire just to rid my library of its wicked taint. I don't blame you on trying to get rid of it off your kindle. I've tried giving mine away, but they always get returned to me. After I'm done reading the first 6 books that my dad bought for me, I plan on selling them. I can tell a book series is bad when most of the HoN books I've seen at the used books look almost brand new.

I was just thinking about vampire mythology when I realized something. Because people have known about vampires for thousands of years in one way or another, where is all this false information coming from? Vampires there hardly keep a low profile. It makes sense in most vampire fiction I've read because they keep quiet. In HoN there everywhere and everybody knows about them. For example the garlic myth. From what I've read it was started by the fact that the smell of garlic overpowered the smell of corpses. Because back then vampires were bloated copses. What I'm saying is that since vampires have always existed and people have pretty much always known about this, why have the myths about vampires evolved the same way as in our world?

This is House of Night! Your logic has no place here; only pretty vampires are allowed here!
Really, though, it's likely the Casts idea of research about the vampire is probably reading Anne Rice and accepting it as gospel before mixing it in with a really bad "Wicca" aspect.

It reminds me of Twilight. Does anyone think it's worth reading if I'm only going to do so I can have fun bashing it like I used to do with Twatlight?

Personally I'd say once you get past the first three or four books that it's worth reading even without doing it for the purpose of snarking it. But then again, I do genuinely like the series so I admit I'm somewhat biased.

Since I've only read the first two books, I was wondering. Are the fledgling deaths natural or are they caused by Neferet so that she can build an army? Alternately, is that liquid she makes them drink cause them to reanimate as those red eyed things?

Alternately, is that liquid she makes them drink cause them to reanimate as those red eyed things? No, the deaths aren't caused by Neferet, they actually are natural. And the liquid she makes them drink does infact reanimate them as your standard mythological vampires/the red eyed things.

I will go ahead and say that her self-righteous beliefs about blowjobs is weird. I bet she would probably have no problem with a guy (or anothet girl) giving a girl oral. 9.9

Well, blowjobs are pretty gross. In-fact, most things involving a penis are off-putting.
And that was a really weird thing to type.

This may have been brought up, but, am I the only one who hated how Zoey thinks Aphrodite is bad because she's giving a guy oral and not the fact that she's sexually assaulting him?

But a woman can't sexually assault a man! D: That's a one-way street!

And then she keeps insisting, "I'm not a ho!" while we're all like, "Honey, you've been with more people than the girl you're calling a ho. What does that make you?"

But, oral sex is like the worst thing ever. It's definitely worse than sexual assault, don't you know?

"What does that make you?" A hypocrite? One of the reasons I don't like Zoey. But Stevie Rae and Aphrodite more than make up for her unlikableness, in my opinion.

To me, she can come off as the writers thinking, "Hm, she's from the country? Hurry, cram in every stereotype about people from the country as possible!" She's definitely a better person than Zoey or the Twins but it's like being a "country bumpkin" is all there is to her character.

All of the characters are walking stereotypes in one way. Like how Damian or however it's spelled is the typical sensitive, nerdy gay guy. And that's all to him. He uses big words and is gay.

I thought Damian was a pretty bad gay-stereotype...and then the Casts brought in Jack Twist. But yeah, the series has no characters, only stereotypes and Mary Sues.

Don't forget that he's not like all those other gay guys: he's much more masculine. And I swear they say something like that in the books too.

Yeah I love the double standard idiocy of it all, like how Zoey bashes everyone who ISN'T a member of whatever her religion is, and calls them cultist, close-minded and brainwashed, meanwhile she JUST converted to Nyxianity..?, and immediately gets into being (you guessed it) CULTIST, CLOSE-MINDED AND BRAINWASHED! And then of course the sexually aggressive girl is a big ol' ho, but not the skank men, and Zoey is the biggest village bicycle in the history of Mary Sues but somehow has the moral high ground? When you're such a SLUT that you don't even have a love rhombus but a love pentagon, you SUCK and shouldn't be able to have an opinion on anyone else forever. She's not even 18 for crying out loud!

More writer-versus-reader drama, it seems that the Casts don't take kindly to criticism of their shitty books. A reader commented on the site about how she didn't care for the casual use of the word 'retard' and was going to get the HoN books banned from her library. Now, I'm just going to say that I disagree with censorship and book-banning, and think that banning a book because the characters say 'retard' is ridiculous...but the way the Casts handled the whole thing was terrible.
Cast decides to respond to the comment. I can see the point that Cast was trying to make, but her response is so freakin' condescending and insulting that she really should have just left the issue alone. Rude, it was simply rude even though Cast was technically in the right here.
But all my sympathy goes out the door when the Casts decide to use their fucking books to try and get some sort of petty revenge on this reader:
Destined. Pages 95-96
Seriously? Was that really necessary? Was that lone comment so mean and hurtful to you that you had to go and poke fun at this reader in your book? You had to show readers everywhere how wrong this person was by using the freakin' EvulBlonde of your books to make a point.
It doesn't matter whether you agree with censorship or not, the way the Casts handled this situation was just petty, immature and downright spiteful.
