Resurrecting another thread from TS 2.0.
What would SMeyer think of your original fiction/fanfic/art/screenplay/whatever?
For example, if SMeyer were to read the ridiculously long crack/angst Shout-Out-ridden AU FMA fanfic I am a co-author of, there are a fewthings she would like, as well as many things she would dislike.
Like: +There's quite a bit of romance.
Dislike: -Underage drinking. -Minor amounts of drug usage. -Lots o'premarital sexin'. -In fact, one of the more sympathetic characters was briefly a porn star. A male German porn star, to be specific. -Above character was also in a threeway relationship for a while with his best friend and the girl he loves. -The best friend in the above threesome is an angsty drunken pansexual manwhore. Who, at one point, attempted to marry a statue of Colonel von Stauffenburg while hammered. -Many, many explosions. -Childhood trauma. -There are several immortal characters. Few of them actually want to be immortal. None of them are anywhere close to sane. -The immortals can reproduce; however, those children are very, very screwed up. -The immortals' kids have powers, almost all of which are kind of difficult to live with in a mundane world. -The immortals are extensively studied by the government, which tests out new weaponry etc. on them. Not a fun job. -One of the 'good guys' is the leader of a band of criminals who one day plans to rule the world. -Several of the 'good guys' took place in a controversial military compaign in the Middle East that killed millions of innocents through a process that was painless but And I Must Scream-inducing. -One of the pairings has twincest-y vibes, seeing that due to a quirk of fate, the couple look nearly identical. And finally: -SMeyer makes a brief cameo (but not by name) as Angered Parent 12. She eventually gets hit with first a copy of the book she was protesting against, then a giant foam fork.
(I'll probably think of some more stuff later.)

...You forgot the John Green praise. Aaaand I'm pretty sure SMeyer's not a fan of astrophysics or anything related to aeronautics.
And the whole Ross/Liesa "friends with benefits" business, which I'm pretty sure SMeyer would hate.
(Not to mention that most of the characters are the result of pre/extramarital sex...)

I'm pretty certain that my work she would not like because: - There is no romance at all. - Jane's grandfather is old and has a lot of scars. - Jane's grandfather is not an enemy, even though he is ugly. - There's character death within the first page of the book. - Jane has no love interests right now. - The Incubus is not intested in Jane. - Lillian the neighborhood vampire does not sparkle at all. - Jane has a backbone after she gets over her mom's death. - Jane gets saved by a woman.
SMeyer might like: - The sealers have special powers - The Incubus is handsome. He's also older and more powerful than Jane. - It's set in a small town.

Hrm...she may like the romance...
But she probably wont like the fact that the romance is between two females. With actual flaws. :0 Or that I actually like killing off my characters. -_- Or that one of the main characters has contact with the dead.

What She'd Like: -Well, there is a nice looking guy in the story, and he is a douchebag, since she tends to lean towards those types. What She Wouldn't Like: -Plenty of Death. -Evil children. -No romance. -Some sexual situations between two males. Frankly, I wouldn't give a damn what she likes and doesn't like.

(Not to mention that most of the characters are the result of pre/extramarital sex...) True. Plus, I'm fairly sure that she'd be confused by the constant references to pretty much everything either of us has ever read. And she definitely wouldn't get the history geekery. And I feel that she might object that one of the immortals spawned Hitler. XD She might like that most of the characters are attractive, but she would most definitely not approve of their behavior. Heck, we have about 3 pairings where the characters don't have premarital sexahtiems, out of like 20. YAY DEBAUCHERY. ;D

I'm sure she wouldn't like mine at all. I'm a fan of scary things, blood and violence. I write fanfiction, but still. All the creepy and violent stuff would probably turn her off. And the slash. Oh the slash.

It seriously took me a few minutes to figure out what the third pairing was. XD
Not to mention that there are FIVE religious characters in the entire thing. -One of them is a drunken manwhore -One of them wants to be an astronaut - and instead settles for being an ASTROPHYSICIST. -One of them gets drunk and sleeps with her not-boyfriend's brother, and ends up going out with him, while her not-boyfriend is halfway across the world, possibly dying. -One of them has casual sex with his best friend... almost every night. -The last one is a fanatical follower of a very warped version of Christianity. One in which it's okay to castrate your husband if he cheats on you.

Wouldn't Like - I think one of my pairings wouldn't go over well with her. It's sort of an yuri pairing with the names from my internet counter. - Zoey's original male body is destroyed, and so are the chances of babies. He needs a male name. >.> - He was a theif and killer before his body was destoryed. - He took the body of a girl who's soul was eaten, and he stole her name to protect himself from getting attacked. Pretty much, he had ran away from the aliens. - The aliens kill lots of people. And my aliens look scary to be honest.

Things she would like:
-A lot of my stories feature superhumans of some sort, whether they be vampires, fairies, or even Gods! -I'm kind of guilty of purple prose. >_> Okay, I'm really guilty. >_>;;;; I usually try to cut out things that are unnecessary, but I can't help but play around with words and descriptions like a little kid playing with a new shiny toy. That's probably why I'm better at writing poetry than prose. -Much like when Mrs. Meyer wrote Twilight, I create stories simply for my own enjoyment. I know they're not very good. But, unlike Mrs. Milkin' It Meyer, I'll probably never show them to another human being, much less try to make money off of them. I just have so much damn fun making them. ;D
Things she wouldn't like:
-The homosexuality. Honest to Goddess, I can only think of one piece I've worked on in the past year that didn't have a gay couple in there somewhere. -Just...the sexuality! The fact that the characters have healthy sexual appetites would be seriously squicky to her. -A lot of my stories have pagan morals and themes attached to them. (Then again, she's probably of the type that thinks that witches only exist as Halloween decorations, so they'd probably all slip right past her.) -The moral ambiguity. Smeyer's characters seem to all fall into either a "good guy" or "bad guy" category. I put a lot of effort into trying to avoid this.

The only thing of mine that wouldn't probably make her an hero is "Lucid" which is just a weird, really violent romance. Between two very imperfect guys. So the only thing that'd draw her in is the word "Romance". The rest of it would probably make her cry.
Everything else...lol...it'd just a downward spiral from there.
Butcher -Lots of rape and forced sex -Massive amounts of torture, gore and dismemberment -Obviously sexist and 'demeaning to girlies' -Oodles of swearing and colorful language -A main character with a brain, good vocabulary and ample self esteem.
Dredge -Nothing sparkly or shiny -Zombies -More copious amounts of swearing -Gore, dismemberment, etc... -Absolute zero romance -Fratricide
On and on and on...

Haha, I'm sort of ashamed of this... Things she would like: -Probably some purple prose (I try not to, really I do!) -I only write romantic drabble fanfics that are so fluffy you'd suffocate. -My NaNoWriMo novel is mainly romance
Things she wouldn't like: -Most of said drabbles are Harry Potter slash (I can think of literally two I've written that are non-slash). -One of said non-slash fics is not romantic (and really bad since it was like the first thing I'd ever written for enjoyment ever). -The other said non-slash fic is Severus/Lily, and Severus doesn't sparkle and he isn't handsome. -My NaNoWriMo novel's first half involves a plot, and the romance comes later. -Said romance involves relationship development. -Said romance is between two girls.
Also, like Holly Hobgoblin said, the most I'd ever do with any of these is post them up on Fanfiction.net. I justify my bad writing by saying, "It's not like it matters how good it is, because I'm only writing for fun and nobody else ever has to see it."

Dislike: -Two males in love -Two females in love -Deaths of characters due to battles, accidents and murder -Lots of lying in order to lure a Scammer away -Premarital sex -Lots of partying, drinking (including "underage") and irresponsible acts -Characters within characters -Swearing - Sarcasm, irony, cynicism -Utilitarianism (The greatest happiness for the greatest amount of people. Meaning that a character has to die in order to save others). -Revenge -Mind games -The Main Central Character dies toward the end and another main character takes its place- -The only true "romance" is unrequited because of the character within a character (baiter) -"Bella-Edward" Mary Sue/Gary Stu type characters are the first to die off. -Abusive interrogation -Strandedness
Like: + One of the "baiter" characters believes everything and wants the "scammer" character to love her but the distance keeps them away.
There's probably more but this is what I have so far.

For my Nano:
She'd think Alex's obsessive and emotionally manipulative behavior towards Annabeth was so very romantic.
She'd think that even though Ellie is just nineteen when she had Isabel and stuck under the tyrannical thumb of her step father she should still stay with Izzy even if it means she's unhappy for the rest of her life because hello, no woman is complete until she has popped out a child!
She would not like that Meredith is a redhead. Hello, she's mean to Annabeth so she has to be a blonde!
Oh, and she'd adore my word count lengthening ultra violet way of describing every moment and second. All my dialogue tags are at least three words long, often more. Someone adjectives adverbly. Often while doing something.

Like) It'd seem to be a 50's sitcom just from the summary. The light comedy
Dislike) It uses a very fucked up version of The Munsters. (Freddy is the father, Jason is the angst ridden teen son, Micheal Myers is the uncle, Ex Mortis is the Grandpa. Ash Williams and other Final Guys/Gals are the neighbors. So is Deadpool and Headpool.) The majority of the humor Ash's recalling of the events of the Evil Dead's stuff. The 'Brothers Deadpool'. The fact it's based on horror. Ash & Headpool's rivalry.

I think SMeyer wouldn't like my original story because romance is not the sole focus/central idea. It's more of a coming-of-age story with some paranormal elements to it. SMeyer certainly wouldn't like the protagonist (her name's Danica). SMeyer would probably find her too headstrong and bitchy since my protagonist stands up to the mysterious loner guy who's been annoying her lately and calls him out on his rudeness and his BS. Danica is also being bullied in school by a girl named Rina, whom she used to be best friends with, until Rina pulled a prank on her and spread a nasty rumor about Danica and started insulting her in front of her face. To add to that, Danica's best friend, Nat, has a huge crush on Rina's boyfriend, the athletic star of the school's basketball team. Danica tries to tell Nat that her obsession with this guy isn't healthy for her, that investing her emotions in a guy who won't reciprocate those same feelings is a huge waste of time. However, Nat takes offense to this and calls Danica a backstabber. Danica, meanwhile, reflects over whether she was a little too harsh in giving Nat the unsolicited advice. Danica also has issues with her mother, who is struggling to keep her independent bookshop afloat. Bills, bills, bills just keep piling up, and the shop is understaffed. Danica's not even sure how her mother can afford to send her to college. Danica doesn't know what she wants to do with her life yet, but she knows that she desperately wants to succeed in something and find her own identity. There's something else that her mother's not telling her (because she thinks it's better for Danica not to know), which could be key to Danica's doubts about her own sanity and also the key to finding out more about her own identity. And when Danica finally finds out what that is... well. More conflict ensues. So that's my story in a nutshell. There's more to it, but I'm still working on the other parts. I don't think that SMeyer would like my story very much because - As I've said, romance & "true love" are not the central ideas, nor are they the only ideas being explored.
My story is more about identity-seeking, coming to terms with who you are once you find out, standing up for one's self, and learning how to move forward from one's past through forgiveness (forgiving one's self, as well as forgiving those who have wronged you). I highly doubt that SMeyer thought about anything else outside of romance.
- Danica thinks that guys who condescend and are physically aggressive are jerks. She also likes to make fun of sparklepires and damsels-in-distress. In addition to reading classics like Jane Eyre and Northanger Abbey, Danica also enjoys reading historical fiction, science fiction, and horror stories. You can find her curled up in a corner of her mother's bookshop reading a book during her work breaks. She also enjoys eating cheese puffs while watching re-runs of Buffy or TCM movie marathons.
SMeyer would probably think that Danica's weird for standing up to the guys who have been harassing her. SMeyer would also think that Danica's interests in science fiction and horror stories are just plain icky.

Like: * Vampires * A little romance (Small love triangle, but it goes nowhere) * Attempts to aknowledge the existance of an afterlife, but it doesn't go into detail
Dislike: * Underage drinking / Drug use * Domestic violence - Mentioned by one of the characters, but that's it. * Graphic accounts of violence - Senseless murders - Disturbing scene involving a box of snuff tapes - Torture chambers - An instance of child rape - Character reflects on the violent murders of his wife and child * High body count - From the exposition to the end, the body count is in the tens of thousands (due to the first war and the doings of the villian afterwards) * Mostly a war story * Occult referances - Only a couple scenes. A few involve the cult and two or so chapters talking about a life transfer ritual. * Most of the characters aren't religious - The religions of the character's aren't mentioned (to my knowledge). The only real mentions of religion are pagan holidays celebrated in the village. In terms of an afterlife, it rarely comes up. A few times in the protagonist's dreams and a few accounts of a character's past experience with it. It doesn't go into complete detail. * The characters have flaws * They're not all attractive as Eddykins and Bella Sue - Most of the vampires look like they're in their 30s-40s. A few look like they're in their 60s. So only a few look like these "meyerpires" in terms of youth. * Bisexuality * Most of it is either focusing on the cult or the wars * There are no shapeshifters * The vampire aren't immortal - They're very much like humans, except they have a longer life expectancy. Some die prematurely ( 100-200<) or at a very old age. (800-1100+) In most cases, they only live for a couple hundred years. - They don't explode or turn to ash in the sun. If they're outside for a couple hours, they'll get a nasty sunburn pretty quick. - They eat and drink like we do, but most of their energy drink from blood. (Drink mainly animal blood. Human on special occasions.) * None of them are perfect. * Within the vampire community, there are no super powers. - The only people to have any sort of power in the series are the villlian and a few of his followers (supernatural pact) * There's no happy ending, because the characters die at some point. * The villians make Victoria and her drones look like Hello Kitty. - While Victoria was forming an army in Forks, the main antagonist was forming an army around the damn world; to destroy the vampire race (even half-breeds are on the shit list). - So you either join the legion or die horribly. WTF. * The main protagonist struggles with inner demons and problems. - Torn between supporting the vampire village who she's grown close to, after being turned. Or the rival human village (the antagonist was part of) because of her family history and blood line. - Has to kill her best friend in order to save the village. - Forced to drop out of school because of the cult * There's some character development - Tommy: Goes from being depressive about being a vampire, to volitale and hungry for blood - Cam: From Mr. Happy Go Lucky to a thantophobic mastermind - Gildroy: Goes from being a drunken fiddler to a brave general, ready to go on a head hunt. - Caitlin: After the brush with death, she trusts it and waits for its return - Magda/Kennedy: A tough know-it all. The only thing that really changes is that the war made her softer to human compassion - John Gregory: Maintains his sadistic and wicked personality throughout the series. Constantly tempting the protagonist to give in and kill the village. - Erin,Charlie and Casey: Crooked drones for Gregory. Cold blooded murderers with no remorse for their actions.Graphically recorded their crimes, to show Gregory later. Only show a change of heart before they're execution, where they express regret for not leaving the cult. * The protagonist isn't worshipped by everyone * Rarely has any happy moments. - The only few might be the characters goofing around at a movie theater and the woods. Besides those two moments, shit goes down hill in the happiness department.

Oh, I'm quite certain she would hate it. It deals a lot with prejudice and blind hate, and as SMeyer seems to dodge those subjects a lot, well...
Likes: - There is romance. It's not the main focus, but it's there. - There are supernatural creatures falling in love with humans, but that NEVER turns out well.
Dislikes: - A lot of death. - Deals with "touchy" subjects such as rape and racism (in this case, species-ism) - Bad things happen. The world is NOT perfect. At all. - When people are evil or bad, usually they do something very bad. They don't just sit there and act threatening. - The main character is not very religious and his religious conflict becomes a central point. - The main character of the second book is a lesbian. - Nobody gets married, but lots of sex. It's a cultural thing. - There are multiple gods. None of them are particularly nice or forthcoming. - All the characters have some major issues. - Lots of conflict. For example, the main character in the second book gets really drunk and almost rapes her best friend who is in love with another of her friends. This causes her to realize that she is a danger to her friends and goes into self-imposed exile.

I'm seeing a lot of vampires and werewolves going on here! It's much better than Twilight, but I've just watched Underworld, and why do werewolves and vampires HAVE to be at war? Its in every single frinking vampire book I've picked up! But still, I like the ideas! Anyway, as longs as its written well, then there is no such thing as a cliche! I mean, look at HP. I think it full of cliches, but well writen. Feel free to have your own opinion though.
Hmmmm, she would hate that:
1. The female protagonist has a personality.
2. The female protagonist saves her rash husband a gazillion times…. With a mini-gun, bazooka, flamethrower and a chainsaw.
3. The Science involved makes sense.
4. About a billion people die.
5. The birth of a god is not how many books describe as; painful, life-threatening and potentially a failure. (In fact, I’m sure it was normal).
6. A god does not lose their soul, in fact, they gain a better one.
7. In order to turn a human into a god… its impossible. They need to be immortals (which is a ‘random’ gene) and a god or goddess has to sacrifice themselves to the immortal.
8. There is a sexy/beautiful evil (sadistic) antagonist… who is the protagonists mother (yes, peoples! Twisted shiz! And also to represent that beauty kills both sexes)
9. The romance is love, not sex.
10. The protagonists wife is not a reward, she is very useful.
11. Their relationship is 100% genuine.
12. Ugly good guys are cool.
13. No matter your religion, if you have not hurt anyone or done so and regretted, you WILL go to heaven. All those who do evil things get another chance.
14. The gods are not perfect. They are based of Shinto, and so make mistakes.
15. The best mechanic is a woman.
16. There is no stay-at-home-mom. No, not even the protagonists wife. When they have kids, he stays at home.
17. A man taking care of his son. On his own. And not struggling.
18. Epic blood baths.
19. Protagonist is substantially weaker than the antagonist (even at the end).
20. His wife gets him killed…twice.
21. Reasonable explanation for resurrection (the Sciency way!)
22. While including gods, it is influenced by evolution.
23. Humans are considered the ‘creators’ of the gods (since in the novel, the gods were born from human imagination) therefore, not weak.
24. Character development.
25. The main character isn’t perfect. I’m sure loads of people will hate him.
26. Goddess of war.
27. Females do the fighting shiz, males to the forgery. (Distraction, boys. Distraction )
28. Although the gods are immortal, they can still get sick, shot, stabbed and killed by any means a human would.
29. The best pilot is a female
30. The best ranged fighter is an ugly god
31. There are ugly gods
32. Pre-martial sex
33. Underaged sex
34. Underage drinking
35. Drug use
36. Deep complex storyline with hidden meanings! (which for once, are not religious!)
37. The god world is one where gods can take other gods powers. So there’s an eternal war.
38. There are black people (and the gods complain there are no black gods. Their Japanese! They logically cannot be black.)
39. There are good black people!
40. There is a lesbian who fancies the protagonists wife.
41. Adultery!
42. Does not include vampires or werewolves.
43. Two gays… who are evil. (I’m sorry, whatever happened to equality >.>)
44. A third gay… who fancies his best friend, and the protagonist.
45. Protagonist runs away from a woman he gets pregnant. While in the afterlife! (oh, that naughty Greater God >.>)
46. The title of Greater God implies they are greater than god.
47. Greater Gods who are not born to high authority are taken to be weapons.
48. The antagonist has an army… and she’s female!
What she would like; 1. Romance
2. Most characters have super powers (although it could be given leeway because they are gods?).
3. There are flashy cars and that shiz!
4. Uh… would a goddess of children count?
5. Gods are immortal (see point 28 of what she would hate)

- A government agency for controlling supernaturals (complete with fun acronym) - Power-abusing and crazy supernaturals. - Supernaturals have to register or be hunted. - Registered supernaturals are restricted. - Humans are the main agents in the agency with supernaturals being sidekicks - Innocents die very often - Gory - The world is a dangerous place for everybody - Supernaturals have lethal weaknesses - People don't hesitate to kill - The protagonist has to kill his "girlfriend" - The protagonist becomes really jaded towards the end - Prostitutes and premarital sex
That aside, there are things she might like:
- There are bad guys - Good guys win (most of the time) - Small bits of romance here and there

Smeyer would hate my Assassin's Creed OCs. Well Ceylan more so than Antje but I could understand that one since Ceylan isn't the friendliest person out there XD Anyways, on to the list:
CEYLAN
-She'd hate that Ceylan isn't throwing herself at Damiano or worships him mentally in every waking moment. -She would definitely hate that Ceylan doesn't intend to marry or have a child because she wants to end her side of Altair's Bloodline. She doesn't want any proverbial future children to enter the Assassin-Templar war the same way she did. -It would rub Smeyer the wrong way that Ceylan is bisexual. It would also rub her the wrong way that while Ceylan prefers men, she doesn't hold back from coming on to older (coughexperiencedcough) women when she wants to. -She'd hate that Ceylan and Damiano actually develop their relationship and take a while to realize they're in love rather than falling in love at first sight. -OH NOES PREMARITAL SEX -Chances are she won't spot them, but the squicky situation between Ceylan and Erszebet (basically Erszebet is feeling up Ceylan while preparing to slit her femora artery) will definitely amp the "EW!" factor for her.
ANTJE:
-Her ditz tendecies would annoy Smeyer. Particularly when it comes to how obvious it is that Geoff loves her but Antje misses this hint completely. -She'd definitely hate that Antje rejects Geoff the first time he proposes to her. -assuming she doesn't quit the proboards site when she reads about Antje's miscarriage of their unborn child. -SO MUCH PREMARITAL SEX THE HORROR
Common Factors in Both RPS:
-Historical Details aren't glossed over. She'd hate that. -While the main pairings in both rps don't die during the story, they do get in a lot of near death situations. And since she can't kill off her own characters...

Things Meyer would like about my book:
0.
Things Meyer would hate about my book:
The protagonist is rude, slutty, loud, and not at all interested in love. She's interested in herself, and she's well aware of it.
The other people in the protagonist's life aren't afraid to call her out on her flaws.
There are no supernatural forces at work.
It's a coming of age/fish out of water story without any grandeur or self-pity.
PEOPLE WILL DIE.
Premarital sex, extramarital affairs, some jailbaiting, blackmail, attempted murder, attempted rape, skeletons in lots of closets, confronting racism and sexism, and oh yeah, a little thing I like to call third-person narrative. Fuck you, self-inserting attention whore.

Like: + Female protagonist + Gets with the hot, rich guy + Female WILL get superpowers in the sequel
Hate: - Female actually loves her dad - Dad is actually a good parent - Female is more concerned about finding her separated father than she is of her love interest - Female is actually a pretty strong character - Although hinted at, female and love interest don't get together until the sequel - And it takes them a long time - Female will have a VERY hard time controlling her powers, to the point where hates having the power - Female has FLAWS - It takes awhile for female to control her powers

"Marvel: Last Stand" idea Like) It does infact have vampires.
Dislike) The vampires are the villians. The Avengers left uninfected (Cap. America, Cyclops, Punisher, Spidey, She-Hulk, War Machine, Deadpool, Moon Knight, and Dr. Doom) It's written as a finale to at least one Marvel Universe Every superhuman beyond that Avengers group (and possibly Magneto, Blade, and Thor) are bloodsuckers Vampire Red Skull He's somehow even worse then as a mortal. Somehow.

She would like:
-The main character is a "bishonen" -There's "romance" (not very much, but it's there) -There's vampires -The Christian god is the one that officially exists in this universe
She would hate, hate, HATE:
-Said vampires are usually ugly, and feral -There's no "romance" involving the few attractive vampires -There's an absolutely ADORABLE blonde girl that's polite and sweet and kicks monster ass -In fact, there's lots of female characters that kick ass -No references to Muse (plenty of references to Jimi Hendrix and Iron Maiden and Rush and The Offspring, though) -There's a few attractive villains, as well as a few ugly good guys -Absolutely ZERO "good" vampires -Towards the end, a lot of main characters are gonna die (Earn Your Happy Ending and all, right?) -More than one of the characters is a widow/widower
